Official hitchhiking spot only had to wait for 5 minutes with a sign (Destination Amsterdam)

Ok spot, hard shoulder is too far away from standing point before highway sign and entrance is 2 lanes. But cars stop anyway on road or in grass next to road. I always get away with sign 'Deventer' and hop off at servicestation A1 near Holten. Or sign 'Almelo' to travel on A35/N35. Waiting 30-60min.

Ok spot going to A1 entrances. Use thumb or sign 'Borne'. Stand at begin of hard shoulder between road and cycling path. Waiting average 15-45min

Always a good place towards Hengelo. Waiting time during evening (dark) most times 10-60 min.

Still construction, also moved a few 100m like gbimbel—didn’t get a ride. Seems unsafe to get people to stop on the emergency lane as people use it. When construction is done, the bus station should be accessible again and this will return to being a good spot

Didn't take long, the driver only picked me up because she had hitchhiked in her younger years. I had a sign saying 'Den Haag'

Stood somewhere else first for 3/4 hour, then a man reccomended this spot. Stood by the road and got pickud up quite quickly, bit hectic though so close to the road, so maybe a bit further is better. Straight to amsterdam though :))))

Probably the best spot in the Hague, got a ride to Utrecht fairly easily. Its an official Hitchhiking spot so there space to stop. Great start for our journey to Budapest

Pretty good for germany, although not a lot of trafic

Good for rides East, some Germans. A lot of people goi,g towards almelo, fewer to Arnhem

excellent point for amsterdam even when it's dark, easy to find a car, especially if to attract drivers' attention

Stood next to the traffic light going to Liege, got picked up very quickly. If you’re going south you could make a sign for both Aachen and Liege

There is traffic going to Genk, the Netherlands or Germany. Also some UK plates.

May favourite starting spot to get out of the area to the Netherlands/Belgium/France. So far has worked out for me fairly quickly every single time. This review is super late, but I was there in May in the afternoon and found folks going my direction in half an hour by asking around. It only took half an hour because they wanted to finish their meal (which, totally fair.) I think the finding itself only took about 10 minutes.

Last petrol station on the highway before entering the Netherlands. Don't get stuck here at night as there is nobody! I went to sleep in the Hasbruch Tower which is in a nature reserve about a 30 minutes hike northwest. Next morning it took me two hours to head towards Leer

Lots of cars going back to the Netherlands. Most had kids on the backseat, but after 25 mins we found someone to take us to the Dutch border.

Lots of space to pull over, but traffic seemed local. I was trying to get onto the E34 to the Netherlands via Antwerp(ambitious, I know) and was offered a ride that took me further down the N9. You might be better off taking the E40 to Ghent/Antwerp if you wanna go to the Netherlands, but I didn't try that other option. Disregarding that though, it's decent.

I went on the ferry thanks to a car coming from Maribo. Then on the ferry I was looking for people going directly to Hamburg. After 10 people, I found 2 dutch brothers coming from Norway and going to the Netherlands. They dropped me at Moorfleet Ikea Hamburg. I was alone and with a small bag.

got stuck there mid trip as the night fell, the station employee was really nice, let us sleep in our bags inside and gave us tea, we found a ride eventually in the middle of the night, the rode through belgium without stopping and left us just after the Netherlands border

Very busy gas station. Asked around and then an Indian family took me straight to the Netherlands. They were driving to Almere, but they dropped me off in Wageningen in front of my dorm.

If coming from direction Buir, take the train to Duren :) Here it is good to go west in direction of the Netherlands

Great spot, many many cars there, going in both direction (Belgium or the Netherlands). Asked the cars and people were very open to me (even tho it was 11 pm)

Its a really good spot to get to the Netherlands because this road leads to the cities in that direction. I needed to reach Maastricht and it was the first driver who took me directly there. Its faster to get a ride standing with a sign.

Used this hitchhiking frequently lately. Going to Wallonia/France/South is very hard if you are not willing to go via Liege. Going to Bruxelles would be a question of a few minutes and going direction Aarschot/Antwerpen/The Netherlands will take around half an hour I guess

Amazing spot if you're going anywhere in the Netherlands. There was a lot of traffic and I quickly found a driver who took me to the service station in the south of Nijmegen. In retrospect, I should have waited here longer and looked for a longer ride.

Great spot if you're hitchhiking from Cologne to the Netherlands. You can get here from Nievenheim train station and bus WE2. After that it's just a 15 minute walk to the station. If you look on Google satellite, you will spot a small trail after the bridge over the highway. It is traversable but I wouldn't recommend it as it leads through hunting grounds that are private property. Better to take the long way around. Either way, the service station is accessible on foot through a whole in the fence or on the small road. Waited for 5 minutes, then found a friendly man and his girlfriend who took me one service station further to Geismühle. There was low traffic on Saturday, but I got lucky and found somebody quickly.

More people going to the Netherlands than Liège but I still found a ride there in under 30 minutes. Even got approached back! Bonus points for the cute dog I got to have on my lap (not reflected in the rating.)

Took me two hours to find someone to go in the direction of Liège. To be fair, it was a bad time, Mid-November on a weekday when it was super foggy, but most people were just going to Aachen or North to the Netherlands or Antwerp. So if you wanna go there, it's a good spot, I guess. However the person who took me was super nice and even made a small detour for me.

Had to wait for over an hour, then decided to ask around, and managed to hitch a ride to Zeist. It wasn't a bad spot per se, bigger gasstations are just more preferable, also the bathroom here was shit. (Aparently this was once rated the dirtiest gasstation of the Netherlands).
