A really good spot to get to France or Belgium

At first you think: will anyone pick me up? But they do!

Good spot, got ride in 3mins despite relatively low but still sufficient traffic. Be willing to reject rides as the gas station was not great (unless you do asking around in which case power to you)

Stood on grass, space to pullover just before the highway sign. The second car which stopped was going to Utrecht! English worked.

People were very nice here! Got a ride very quick. Stand behind the gas station. There is plenty of places to stop and youre very visible

It's a liftershalte (basically an official hitchhiking spot, signaled with a sign pole and all, check the pictures on google maps) Had a sign with "Arnhem" written on it and I put some music to kill time while waiting. The first song didn't even finish that a dude stopped by and I got my ride to Arnhem. Honestly quite an incredible experience and the fastest lift I'll probably ever got. I don't know if it helped the fact that it was a Sunday morning

Just enough room for a car to stop but plenty of room to see you from the traffic lights, great way to get onto the A1 highway and get dropped of on a gas station to get rides further east.

Perfect spot to get a ride to the south/east I usually park my bike in city near bar, walking 10min to this petrol station and it always nicely works here

Was hitchhiking at the end of the gasstation for about ten minutes until a mother and her daughter picked me up. I was heading to the Netherlands and they happened to be going all the way to Dijon. I got lucky, so I don’t actually know if it is a good spot for heading north.

Stood there for about 20 minutes. Many people heading to the Netherlands but often with packed cars. Saw someone I knew at the petrol station who gave me a ride to Rotterdam.

There passes enough cars. Asked some people but not many wanted to take us or didn’t go far, but a really friendly couple of the Netherlands took us to Rothenburg Germany and took us the next day again to Linz Austria, they even bought us food and gave 20 euros

Generally good place going east. This time on sunday afternoon with lot of full cars; so had to ask around longer than expected. You can walk from Sud to Nord under A30 via a tunnel. From Hannover center take u-bahn 4 to Garbsen & bus 126 to Am Blaue See. German cars with BI licenseplate will pass next gasstation Auetal. Dutch cars with yellow plates might go straight to the Netherlands.

Great spot if you want to go to the Netherlands. Lot of Dutch cars. Because we were with 4 people it took a bit longer but very good to go from.

Quite alright but not great. To get a ride down in the Netherlands. Though you're not allowed to ask in front of the gas station because that is prohibited there.

We Were hitchhiking to the North on a Sunday morning. Incredibly we found someone after 50 min to Rotterdam all the way to our destination in the Netherlands.

I only asked Dutch license plates. Direct ride to the Netherlands.

Wanted to go to Paris, not the best spot for that. Many people go to the Netherlands or Brussels.

Good spot for Belgium or the Netherlands. Takes a second to find a ride but it makes sense to wait for a longer distance ride that takes you well in the direction you want to take.

Direction North: Apart from Brussels many cars go to Antwerp or the Netherlands. Not so much for Gent

Half of the cars here are Dutch, so there are many people going to Enschede/Hengelo. If you just ask around you can definitely get a ride to the Netherlands very fast Second person I asked gave me a ride to Enschede.

There is traffic going to Genk, the Netherlands or Germany. Also some UK plates.

May favourite starting spot to get out of the area to the Netherlands/Belgium/France. So far has worked out for me fairly quickly every single time. This review is super late, but I was there in May in the afternoon and found folks going my direction in half an hour by asking around. It only took half an hour because they wanted to finish their meal (which, totally fair.) I think the finding itself only took about 10 minutes.

Last petrol station on the highway before entering the Netherlands. Don't get stuck here at night as there is nobody! I went to sleep in the Hasbruch Tower which is in a nature reserve about a 30 minutes hike northwest. Next morning it took me two hours to head towards Leer

Lots of cars going back to the Netherlands. Most had kids on the backseat, but after 25 mins we found someone to take us to the Dutch border.

Lots of space to pull over, but traffic seemed local. I was trying to get onto the E34 to the Netherlands via Antwerp(ambitious, I know) and was offered a ride that took me further down the N9. You might be better off taking the E40 to Ghent/Antwerp if you wanna go to the Netherlands, but I didn't try that other option. Disregarding that though, it's decent.
