Many cars there but almost noone goes to Amsterdam on a friday evening. We got picked up by two people who drove there just for us :)

there's a hotel parking lot and cars are really slow coming down this road, I decided to hitch from here after seeing there's not lots of space on the on ramp

YESSS I loved this! bus stop cars are tbh bit fast maybe but there's plenty space and I got a lift to Enschede withing minutes and it was such a sweet one as well

I sometimes just run around with cardboard in hand and people offer me lifts, zero work put in whatsoever; seemed fairly busy I foolishly accepted a short lift

I met other hitchhikers here! we were going different directions so split ways very soon again, I just got a lift to the next rest stop on motorway, cars are kinda fast but I guess there's soo much space

Almost every Dutch person here will go to Almelo, Enschede or Hengelo so in only 5 minutes i got a ride to Enschede

After only a few minutes someone took me all the way to Holten. I needed a ride to the very East of the Netherlands, so this was veryyy nice

Good spot for Utrecht since almost everyone travels in that direction

After 20 minutes a very kind lady offered me a ride to Groningen.

I asked everyone at the traffic light. Most people are from Military who cant take people with them. After 15 minutes someone took me to the next Reststop at the Highway.

Almost nobody going to the North from here. For Amsterdam its pretty good. Got very lucky with someone who gave me a ride to 't Harde after around 30 minutes

After asking many people i managed to get a ride to The Hague. most people go to Amsterdam, Lelystad, or short travel to Amersfoort

First person I asked took me to directly to Hoevelaken.

I don't know about this place. Tried it for 2x30 mins, both with and without a sign. Nobody stoped.

Not the best, lots of traffic but hard to stop and they didn’t allow me to stay at the gas station. Go towards the exit of the gas station, between it and the McDonalds. You’ll get the traffic from both places

not ideal, signed for Dordrecht, person stopped on road for me thankfully bless them I was very sad being here

not much going on on weekend midday-ish but the first people I asked agreed to bring me to Dordrecht (which they ended up not doing but I'd say you can get a lift there quite easily)

People were nice but no one really wanted to take us. At some point we were lucky to find someone who was on his way to the airport. He was so nice to drive a bit further to „Aire de Vémars Est“ from where you find maaanyyy cars that go to belgium and the netherlands :)

I took the train to weiskirchen and walked to this stop due to its great ratings. And it lived up to it. I was there on a Tuesday around midday and only asked maybe 6 people until I found a person with an Austrian plate (I tried to go to Vienna) and the person was heading to Nürnberg and dropped me off at a gas station before entering the city. There was quite a few people from the Netherlands who also drove to Austria but didn’t have any space left. One person also offered to take me to Würzburg. If I’m in the area I will definitely come back to this spot to cover greater distances.

Great spot towards the Netherlands. If you’re heading to Amsterdam, it’s best to get close to Utrecht – from there, you’ll get to Amsterdam easily.

Great spot if you’re heading towards Hamburg. For Amsterdam, you might have to wait longer. But once you pass Hannover, there are more cars heading towards the Netherlands.

Really good to go to the Netherlands! I was going to Germany and found a french guy who was going there to visit friends. But many people in the holidays going north. Not so many truck drivers but some.

There was some really nice shadow from the gas station pricing sign when I stold there, and the gas station was perfect for people to pull in tgo pick me up. However, I waited for what felt like an eternity, while most drivers didn't even aknowledge my existence. Not sure whether it's the spot or the Netherlands in general, but a tiring experience it was. Eventually a really cool woman picked me up in her 1987 Toyota and took me to Eindhoven

Nice spot to get out of Duisburg towards the Netherlands, but I must say it was probably more about luck than a good spot. There's no shadow to stand in during summer btw, I got quite a sizzle on my neck after that half hour. The driver was really nice though, drove me all the way past Venlo, when he didn't even plan to cross into the Netherlands at all, and even bought me a coke and gave me some cardboard for a new sign

You have to wait a little but it's fully doable. I rejected fiew rides to Hamburg itself and went with driver who was going towards Bremen however during ride I found out that my driver was actually going towards the Netherlands so I decided to go there with him. At the spot itself there is nice forest for camping at night, you can access it by first crossing first fence using an open entrence for service road located in between two fences, then go litte bit north till you se place in which fence has been cutted. Then you are here, actually I would say that this spot is much better for sleeping than previous little bit up north of here and yes, thumbing at the exit works, you just need to be patient so if you are shy like me just stand there and somebody will stop

Good spot! I was asking around for an hour and in the end met a couple from the Netherlands while filling up my water. The took me all the way where I needed to go. I spent 6 hours travelling with them. Really perfect. I asked at the parking lot at the end, not at the gas station. 1 male

Lots of traffic, refused a few rides to Warsaw to try and go further towards Germany without getting stuck. Found a guy going the Netherlands that unfortunately couldn't take us all the way but took us to another big MOP near Konin. Couple F/M stood by the exit with sign and thumbs.

Really complicated to get out of Rouen for me, some people dont take the highway and leave you in random place Waited three hours, almost lost hope but someone took me fit the north Nb; my father was blocked two times while going to the Netherlands, in the exact same place for a whole day. Stay away if you can

Was hitchhiking at the end of the gasstation for about ten minutes until a mother and her daughter picked me up. I was heading to the Netherlands and they happened to be going all the way to Dijon. I got lucky, so I don’t actually know if it is a good spot for heading north.

Stood there for about 20 minutes. Many people heading to the Netherlands but often with packed cars. Saw someone I knew at the petrol station who gave me a ride to Rotterdam.

There passes enough cars. Asked some people but not many wanted to take us or didn’t go far, but a really friendly couple of the Netherlands took us to Rothenburg Germany and took us the next day again to Linz Austria, they even bought us food and gave 20 euros

Generally good place going east. This time on sunday afternoon with lot of full cars; so had to ask around longer than expected. You can walk from Sud to Nord under A30 via a tunnel. From Hannover center take u-bahn 4 to Garbsen & bus 126 to Am Blaue See. German cars with BI licenseplate will pass next gasstation Auetal. Dutch cars with yellow plates might go straight to the Netherlands.

Great spot if you want to go to the Netherlands. Lot of Dutch cars. Because we were with 4 people it took a bit longer but very good to go from.

Quite alright but not great. To get a ride down in the Netherlands. Though you're not allowed to ask in front of the gas station because that is prohibited there.
